Hello, just thought i would share some pictures of my new bigred. Let me know what you think. Took me forever to find one here in canada... Ive gone on two 2 hour road trips to go see bigreds. I went to one a few weeks ago, guy said, 1985 250es bigred, Mint condition. 700$. I got up, drove out there, got there and it was a 200s, without plastics and a blue tank... so many rattles you could hardly here. I got pissed and drove home. Last time i go see a bike without pics. A week later, i head up to trenton ( 2 hours or so from me ) guy shows lots of pics, VERY nice bigred. I get there, its also a 200s. Thats two times kijiji f'd me. False advertising like crazy. Anyway, here it is. After i found one... Sorry if the pictures are huge.. and that its all muddy. =) Only downside is that the front forks are bent slightly.. You only notice it on pavement though.

Welcome to the BR family, these are awesome trikes, often pushed by some to the side because they aren't a sport trike, tons of potential, and reliable!

Seems like a lot of 250ES purchases lately. I got one too. They are great! I don't know how many times on CL you see a Honda 3 wheeler and they call it a Big Red. I have wanted to let people on there know just because they have a larger red Honda 3 wheeler doesn't mean they own a Big Red.

yeah, i think it was money well spent, ive always wanted a sport bike, 250r, etc. For one, in canada, they are just so damn rare. And for two, i own 60 acres of land, mostly tight very rough trails with tons of mud, so a sport bike really would only be of use to me when the lake my cottage is on freezes. I saw a guy a week or so ago with a 110, and he called it a bigred. Damn morons. Im planning on getting some 26'' Kenda Bearclaws, so that should help me out a lot, these 25 year old stockers i got on it right now are absolutely terrible in the mud/snow. Anyone have experience with Bearclaws on thier 250es bigred to let me know if its worth it? I have a set on my 400, and my 450, i think they would work great for this new bigred. My forks are bent slightly though... Need to get that looked after... Definately getting a Knobby for the front though.

I would take all 3 of those original Ohtsu tires off, and put them in the corner... Get a set of mudlites on your BR... You will love them... (BTW: no need for a knobby up front)

Nice BR. Definitely a good price. It's funny where you find these things. I had to buy some US90's from Ontario because there seems to be none in Alberta; But trikes like Big Red's are fairly common around here yet expensive...go figure.

too be honest ive never cared for mudlites, they are alright, i just think that bearclaws are an all around tire, especially for mudding.

Sadly i had to pay 1400 for it.. i havent even seen a good one around here, most people declare theirs as mint and the thing hardly runs. Around here, trikes are very expensive aswell as hard to find. As you can tell by my stories in my original post. Everyone expects top dollar for nothing.

bearclaws are a great all around tire for the 250es. had a pair on one, way better than stock/ knobbie tires. if you ever in of parts shoot me a pm. have an extra set of tripples if you need them.

Yeah, i'll definately get bearclaws... but im a bit short on money since i had to pay so much for this, and had to do some repairs on my 125. I think i need to find some new forks before the tires too... Fat old owner took good care of the bike, but was way to heavy for it... Ha.

You dont have to run mudlites, I just meant that some people will say you need a knobby for the front, and I say BS... My mudlite does great on the front of my BR...

I run Maxxis Mud Bug tires on the back of my 250 and have not been stuck yet. Just a idea to look at while you are tire shopping.

Ive always wanted a mudlight on the front, but 99 % of people say knobbys are better, i think i might run with a mudlight and see how i like it.

I feel your pain man...I've done a few of those "Kijiji drives" out to the middle of nowhere, to look at something that I was told was in "great shape", "mint condition"...just to find an abused piece of garbage that some hick is trying to pawn off on someone. Last guy I almost wanted to punch in the face...urrrrrgh...just thinking about it now gets me pissed.
Anyways, you only make that mistake so many times...then you learn.
After all was said and done, I bought this one off my neighbour (go figure...of all places...nextdoor!) for $1000. Done!
Magic I tell ya'!

Nice Big Red! we are both new members of the super red club. i really like calling them super red, big red is the 200cc one in my mind, super red is 250cc. anyways great bike. Enjoy! i just took mine through 50 acres of hills and excavator tracks, never would get stuck. these things are sweet!!
