Well I went to the shop today to pick up some crap to get the tecate running....I showed them the reeds and they said I might have to buy new ones....Does anyone know how to tell f a reed has gone bad? Should I replace them or try and get the bike running without replacing them?

If their the spring steel kind you can hold the reedvalve up to a light, and look at it from the carb side and see if any light comes in. If it does, then take them off and flip them upside down. If theres still light, then you need to replace. Basiclly the rule of thumb is if theres any gap between them and the cage they need to be replaced. Also things to look for are broken reed petals, and scorched/burnt reed tips especially on the carbon fiber ones.
