Tire Slime

I see this stuff almost everywhere I go now.

Does anyone use this stuff in their tires?

I looked on the website and see that its stays liquid in your tire. Would this not cause a vibration? Not that I can go that fast on my ATC but liquid in the tire = vibration in my books.

Also what luck has everyone had with it. I have a few tires that I might try it on, they have 99% grip but was told they have too many holes in them lol.

you bet ya. I have that or the balls in all of mine. Where I ride we have alot of tree huggers that nail the trails. I think I have about 20 nail holes in a beater of mine and it holds up just fine. It adds alittle weight to the tire but I never put in the recomended amount. Usally alot less maybe a cup or two at the most. I don't feel any vibrations at that amount.

i love that crap.works great for trikes tires but oh man when you dismount a car rim with that in it look out!

So is it like the spare in a can and you have to drive it right away for at least 5 miles, or just add and inflate?

add and inflate... i add it inflat that spin the tire for a few minutes.... i use it in my winter tires (studded) in case i rip out studs, on the ice, nothing like a flat tire 5-10 miles from the truck

Man I bent the sht out of a set of rims and killed the lip on the inside. That stuff plugged that!!!

Used them on my ice tires on my 350X, and lots of slow speed tires (lawnmowers and such)... (had a pinole leak in the tube on kiddos XR50, worked great!)

I heard not to use it in front tires??? I got a real nice 95% tread 250 tire that was studded and was curious if I could clean out what ever is in there now that seeps out on real hot days and put in some fresh slime. Plus I got a set of studded tires I will use this winter I like to seal with that stuff.

How does it work with tires that have slow leaks? I have a couple sets of tires that hold air for a couple days but after a week always have to be aired up before I ride. I figure dry rot from the trikes sitting outside forgotten before I bought them. Would slimming those tires be a good idea? Would I use less for that application?

Hmm... depends on the leak... I don't think it's meant to be a bead sealer or to fix sidewalls.

If it's the beads, then yeah it probably won't work too well. But if there's a small crack in the tire where the air is slowly leaking out from, the slime should cover it up.

I've had the same situation, new tires on old rims. I clean the surface perfect and the beyatch still leaks after a week sitting. Slime has fixed that 75% of the time. The times it didn't, the rim was bent bad or the bead very chewed up from dismounting. I do run slime in the majority of my tires.

Honestly, I usually buy the whole package of good tires on thick rims and have far fewer problems. Guys just tear up the bead removing it....

And, I've never had a tube last more than a few months because the valve stem rips off even at 8psi. It must just be my aggressive riding but tubes do not work for me.

I use this stuff http://www.sealcorp.ca/html/air-care.htm m on a regular basis in Equipment,,,Its the Cats ass for Older tires with weathercracking and liner cracks....Hands down best stuff for tires that seep out,,,and rough beads.
