So what are the benefits of fat bars over 7/8" bars?

I run the taller ones with ATV high Pro Tapers. I have nothing bad to say about them, I love them!!

No more Moose, MSR etc, finally some strong bars............

They have a few heights, I'm 5'10ish so thats what works for me.

DCreel, they are fatter, feel more rigid - less flex and are stronger than the 7/8ths bars, all your controls and grips fit; It's just the middle tapering into the top thats FAT!

I have fat bars on my 200X and can't see any benefit other than they look kinda cool......won them at a pit bike race so the price was right.

Are they lighter than a 7/8" steel set of bars?

im not even worried about having 'fat bars' 7/8ths are fine for me, i dont mx race, and i try not to crash, i just like the feel of higher bars, BUT i think high bend bars look stupid and remind me of bmx bike bars. im 5'10-11'' and low bars make my back hurt from not being up high enough so i have stress on my back from shouders being so low.
so if i can go taller i will. My 200x is gettin modern day touches to suit my taste, but keeping it original lookin for the most part, but id like modern style bars, ill be running a more modern muffler (fmf mega max) and id like to add beadlock/beadlight 'looking' rear rims to it for summer riding, But the taller bars are a must

There lighter than 7/8 steel bars, but I think a good pair of 7/8 aluminum bars is just fine for about every application

I use the protaper ATV mid bend on my 250r and it is perfect I'm 6' I do think a set of 2" rox anti vibe rise would be better yet for me.
