built my racer200x and got it finnished after about a year. broke it in rode it for a couple weeks i was really impressed how much power the bore port n polish fresh evrything up top and pipe did . fired it up week or so later happend to look down while running it . oil was dumpin out the bottom of the skid plate . tooth shered of the kick start gear went thru the bottom of the clutch cover .polished another cover put in new kicker gears and clutches and put it all back togather. fires right up no sliping ext ..thought i was done at least for a little while and could enjoy riding it not working on it lol . about 3 weeks after that got back from a ride and washing the bike and noticed my down tube snaped ( dont really ride wheelies with it or jump ) .................................................. .................................................. ...............................................so my plans are to reinforce the down tube buy wraping it and gussett the rest of the frame ....tigg it all up and powder coat it ................ i read something a guy wrote on hear about puting a 185 or 200s or m rocker box on with the decompression lever on ??? to save some stress on the kicker gears ?? anybody ever done it ??

I would either grind out the top portion or lower portion and place a DOM tub inside and weld it all up. I'd drill 1/2" holes all up and down vertically on each side of the OEM tube and TIG or MIG it from the stock down tube to the new inside DOM tube.
It sounds like allot of work, sounds like overkill but that down tube will break somewhere else if you just front and back outside gusset that broken portion.
Or replace the entire downtube with thicker DOM tubing......
Thats ME, other people have different opinions and you may be limited as to how much you can do..........

As far as xr/xl motors go the decompression has a cable running down to the kicker. I don't know about the 200 trikes that have them but i would imagine they work the same on a similar principle.

the early ATC 200's had a lever on the rocker cover that you work manually. I think my 84 200ES has this lever also, but I never use it because of having electric start. The 83 and up 185 and 200S have the cable activated compression release that works via the pull starter.

if thares a manual one that will fit i was thinkin run a cable up to the bars with a little hot start lever .....

I believe they have a lever and other models had a cable that at TDC on the compression stroke - held the exhaust valve open just a bit for a hair of a revolution. I'll never claim to know a whole lot about the 200S,ES,M etc etc; I'm more of an 86/87X guy but I mainly run 350X's......... Still a simple machine tom diagnose with a manual and some research.
You can wrap it, I still suggest drilling holes and welding the 2 together, but down low where the motor mounts are will be difficult to tackle. I'm more of a chop, increase and weld guy.
Send me the frame and it won't break there anymore :D
The 200CC shouldn't need a "Hot Start" lever, they fire right up when jetted close to correctly........

have no problems starting the bike ... fires first kick ... just herd something about it thought it might be a good idea ... cause the 1st gen 200x is none for kick start problems ......
