View Full Version : Headliht keeps blowing...

Ive asked a bunch on here but Im yet to get any help,heres the problem I have an 83 honda atc 200 everytime I rev the engine or go in gear the headlight blows.Theres 3 wires one go to a male terminal on the light then to the frame,the other two are blue&white&go to the headlight switch.There the right bulbs Im using any ideas?Everything is clean&tight.Also Im on via my phone so please dont send the wiring diagrams I cant see em.

Possible your stator is bad and putting out too much power.

probably your regulator is bad letting the voltage go so high its blowing your bulb.

I would Agree with Kasy if, its running a battery,,Witch i guess was optional on that According to the Schematic... Or a Bad ground or Broken ground somewhere In the harness, The tail light work or do the same thing..?

i have a 200s that just started doing the same thing it does not hve a baterey, would the regulator be internal?

Regulator is probably bad.

There is no regulator on a 200s. Make sure both the headlight and tail light are the correct wattage. If it still blows bulbs, test the lighting coil.

I'm with mike. you need to have the proper wattage of the head and tailight or if not using a tail light the head light needs to be atleast the combined wattage of the two
