Carb questions, bigger is better? [Archive]

Just curious, I've been told that the stock carb on my trike (the lt250r) isn't the best thing in the world. If i wanted to upgrade what should I look for? How will I know if it will fit/work. What size jets should I use? I currently have an open air K&N filter on it so no worries on the air box or anything. Thoughts, comments, personal experiments? Whichever, feedback is welcome :]

My 89 LT250 it was bone stock exept for the carb and pipe. It had a 39pwk and it was perfect for that thing. I don't think the early LT motors would like that much carb but I never had one.
