Old Skool (asumeing)3 wheeler help needed

Sup everybody.Ok so this old Lady sold me this 3 wheeler for 30 bucks i am thinking its a 84 havent a clue but anyhow the thing is up and running but not good.Cant get the pullstart to go so we resorted to push starting it since the pull is locked up tight about ripped open my hands yanking that thing for 30 min before i could get it to start thus..i checked the carb witch is feeding through to much gas through it like massively bad but eather way i need alittle help with this pain in da ass situation its a yamaha tri-moto 175 2 stroke and its yellow with black pinstripes so any help tips whatnot would be muchly thanked for

first clean the carb. sounds like the float is getting stuck open.

Yes, and use compressed air from an aircompressor if possible. try to clean the outside of it first if its at all dirty, and then use the air compressor to blow out the inside to free any debris that might be in a jet circuit.

Does it have the complete air box assembly? That well make it not run right.
If it is complete clean the carb.

nahh doesnt have the full box .

And also look on the steering stem and find the vin numbers and tell us the first 3 numbers that are on it. I can find out the year that way.

your going to need the airbox. what are you missing from it? it wont run right and youll have to run it with the choke and it still wont be able to get into 4th gear or 5th

i will get the vin number tomarrow cause i am picking up the parts after they get cleaned

and i will have to check on what all is missing still..have had this thing about 2 weeks now just got on it a few days ago ..call me hella lazy

If the entire airbox assembly has been gone and the previous owners/riders were riding it without it...its very possible the motor has lived on dirt and dust so long that its just wore. One of the most commonly forgot about things...a good clean well oiled air filtration system is the key to keeping a good motor.

yeah we have ran into alot of issues with the thing so far but i wouldnt doubt they had..thats why we are doing a overhaul of it..tho i wont lie i had some fun on it as soon as we found out it ran..tho it sounded clean as hell and had no issues till think it was the second or 3rd day we road it..it wouldnt idle when i would get off to let it run for abit it would die after 4 min and once it died while i was runnin it ..was in about 3 gear but started back up after that with a push start since non of us enjoy crankin on the pullstart for an hour

You got 2 options then:
1. Buy the complete air box assembly
2. Get a bigger jet for it.

I cut the top piece of my air box and I'm running a 210 main jet in it. It runs pretty bad outta hell when it hits the power band. I still need to jet it smaller I think.

A set of cutting torch tip cleaners work great for cleaning out carb jets.

Be careful if using a welding "tip" cleaner as Jeb suggested. It doesnt take much motion before you start to remove metal from the jet which will richen your jetting forever. Or at least for that particular jet.

Thanks again guys...i will be messing with it again tonight so i will more or less be poping on incase i run into some massive issues.So consider yourself a target for crabbyness from me and beggin for aide if i can figure it all out
