1982 ATC 185s bought brand spanking new at the Honda Dealer near 29 Palms in 1982. I was 13 and I saved paper route $ for 3 years to buy it. Something like $1100 out the door or so.
It eventually got full suspension with an onoxious Bill's pipe on it. Replaced with a 82 250R, +6 arm, 300 kit in roughly 1984. Those were good times.

1984 Yami Tri-moto 125, saved paper route money for about half of it then payed back mom over the next year or so. I was 13 at the time. I wanna say it was about 1300$ new.

1985 Honda 200x, rolled it off the showroom floor, I was 14. For some reason the number $1693.00 out the door hits me. Why can I remember that and I can't help my 15 yr old daughter with any of her math homework, or remember some of the peoples names I graduated with? If I had a time machine and could pick a day to start a do-over, I'd say that would be my dial in date.

1980 110 my dads old boss had just sitting in a yard. I remember pulling up to his place, and seeing 3 tires beneath a blanket, and thought to myself "Where's the fourth wheel??" :lol: Just needed some new tires, a thorough tank cleaning (replaced it with a ebay tank) and she fired right up. Included a 1987 200X frame, and a 185S frame, both rollers that we sold for like $200 :(

my 200k i was in 6th grade.a freind of mine said he found it at his grandfathers old place up north.they delivered it a week later for free,need a secondary clutch that i got for 60 bones off of ebay..that one trike turned into four trikes by the end of my highschool career

My first trike was an ALT50. I used to drive around and buy dirtbikes, quads, scooters, go carts, etc out of people's backyards. I spotted it in a guy's backyard at the bottom of the hill. No coil, but it wasn't locked. Bought a coil, cleaned the carb, changed the plug and it fired right up.

I bought a 225DX shortly after then a slew of trikes followed.

My first trike was a klt 200 my friend sold me for $5 because he couldnt get it to start. Cleaned the rats nest out of the airbox and put new bolts in the rear sprocket that was broken and rode it for about 15 minutes and sold it for $300. But the first trike i bought and actually rode and had fun on was a early model atc 200. That bike really taught me alot about riding with its crappy trailpro tires and zero suspension. Transmission would slip out of gear while climbing steep hills letting you free wheel backwards at warp speed. Good times man.:TrikesOwn

A Yamaha 225 shaft drive with reverse I rode before got me hooked. I use to call it a 225DXL but I don't think thats 100% correct; Regardless, it got me hooked!!

in 1991 I bought my almost mint 1979 atc 70, only issue was the tank was rusted out. at 10 yrs. old you'd think I woould have taken care of it but now it's been completley thrashed, was given away by my mother when I was 21 and living out of state, am in the process of retrieving it back as I want to restore it and give it to my daughter to ride. I was 14 and my parents bought me a Kawasaki Klt 110 in black. I had never rode a trike or knew anyone who had one. Only had riden a yz80 once before and it didnt end well lol. I was hooked as soon as I first rode it. I have had close to 20 trikes since then. Trikes are in my blood and always will be.

3 years ago, my buddy had a pair of trikes, a 85 200x and a 84 250r, went up there and rode the 200x(i have never rode anything besides a mini bike before this) no training, nothing, and it just meshed with me and it was like i was ment to be on it, a buddy of mine ended up tradin a street bike for the 200x, and a few weeks later i traded a beater car for the 250r..
didnt feel right on the 250r... so technicly it was my first trike, but i traded the 250r for the 200x and never regreted it untell about a year later when i really got into atvs and speed/power

My first trike was an atc90 when the only trikes were atc70 and atc90. It was used and it was a christmas present. Had it for a few years and once I went in the service in 1980 and saw my first 3wheeling mag in 81, well, it was all over. Aftermarket frame and lots of aftermarket pieces. Luckily most places didn't mind shipping parts back then to a FPO address.
