Has anyone on here ever put a 200 cc 4 stroke auto into a 250r frame?

I have seen the Auto 200x's but not in a 250R Frame.

Reason I ask is I have a line on a rolling 250R Frame.

My motor in my ATC 200 is almost brand new and was thinking of putting it in a frame with suspension. Can only find the 250R frame....:naughty:

Thoughts???

Buy this 84 T3 engine I have and make it fit :naughty:

Seems like an injustice to put a 4 stroke in a 2 stroke frame :(

tru that.. a 200 in a 250r would be like puting a 22r in a vette... but if its an air cooled R i say go for it..

I have a line on 2 250R's, One the motor is pooched. Figure it would be easier to talk the wife into it if I can make her one out of the one frame and my engine and keep the other R with the good motor for myself ;)

The way the motor mounts would be completly different, as the 250R (all of them) have the rear of the motor mounted by the swingarm bolt - that goes through the rear of the motor cases, and and through the swingarm. I think you would be better to find a 200x frame to put the 200 motor in if you wanted suspension. It would be a lot of heavy modification to the frame, and just wouldnt be worth it in the end in my opinion.

Thanks! That answers my question. Never looked close until now and after looking at some pics of a 250r I see what you mean. Well maybe she can just ride the ATC then and i get a parts bike with the 250r ;)

I would do it! No doubt the 250r has the best suspension and to have a nice mild 4 stroke in it. That would be a awesome trail machine. They did a similar swap in a old magazine, stuffed a trx 250x engine in a trx 250r frame. I think its a great idea.

Not on the liquid R's. The rear engine mount is held on by the swing arm bolt, but the swing arm bolt doesn't have to be removed to R&R the engine. It has two seperate bolts on top and bottom of the mount that go through the rear of the engine. I think the older air cooled R's have the swing arm bolt that goes through the rear of the cases.

Your gonna get excellent suspension and you can make a fast 200CC motor. I wouldn't hesitate.

Use the 200CC harness and make up some mounts, simple.....

Probably lots of room too.

I'd love to see a built 200X motor in an R chassis. You don't HAVE to go through the cases, there just a convenient spacer.........
