I've been trying to figure out what year this trike is that I picked up but the sticker on the headset is worn out. The guy I bought it from said it was an 86 but after some searching I couldn't find any 200cc trikes made in 86.. I'm thinking it's maybe an 84-85? It's a 200cc electric start with recoil, reverse and shaft drive.. I wanted to make sure of the year before I start ordering parts to rebuild the top end and possibly the clutch. Any way to find out the year or are all the electric start shaft driven 200's the same parts?

thanks

Do you have the serial #?

Serial number is stamped on the right top of frame by the triple tree, however, if it has reverse it has to be a 1985 YTM200ERN "Yamahauler". Motor should have 52G as part of the vin. Right side of crank case under the carb. It should NOT have rear suspension if it's a 200cc. They did make reverse for the 225DX in 85 and 86.

I checked the numbers on the front right of the frame and on the engine.. On the frame there looked to be a 9 digit number, the 3rd number I couldn't make out but this is what it looks like.. 24X008461 and the crankcase numbers first 2 numbers are 52. Any idea what year it is?

If it's 24W008461, it's a 83 frame, with a 85 engine.
