I finally got my bike going, it runs pretty good. I'm ordering a new swinger because mine is no good any more.
While i have it off i would like to upgrade the shock. I like the height it is at now, but it sags ALOT when i sit on it, or when i gas on it. I have read about 350x, but it seems you must moddify the dog bone. Is it possible to just stiffin the spring up? The two nut's are not tightened all the way. The have about another inch or so to tighten up, will this make a signifigant difference?
Also, i want to put some kind of 26 - 28mm carb on it. I know the flat side's are for more of the topend, and i like to ride whillies and stuff, so i like the low end. But i also like to ride on the roads, so i do open it up alot. Is 28mm to big for something with a slip on carb k&n and a free flowing exhuast? I plan on putting a xr cam in it soon, so it will have a little more performance. I also plan to further moddify the motor. ie, higher comp piston, HOPEFULLY a stroker kit, so i would like to get the 28mm so that i have it and it's done with. I know i will have to make a mount, one of my old intake boots are coming apart and the peices that mount to the engine and the card are made of metal. I'm thinking about just removing the side that mounts to the motor, seeing as it already has the o-ring seal between it and the head, and using that as my mount. And just run a hose from carb to head. Sound like it will work?
Any info is appriciated!
thanks
