Hi, I picked up a US90 a few weeks ago! My friend and I (bretmd94) had been looking for US90s for quite some time, then another trike enthusiast I know was willing to part with some of his collection, a blue one and a green one. (He had one of every color at one time! He kept red.) The green bike fired right up and the tires held air- I will let bretmd94 tell you more. The blue one was in poor shape. Im sure someone was in a violent wreck with it as it had severely bent forks, fender, and right peg. It was also missing the pull start assembly, hi-low gears and cover, and chain guard. The carb came in a coffee can, brakes were frozen, it leaked oil........ you guys know how it goes lol. But on the plus side............ well to be honest I wasnt sure if there was anything positive about this one but I knew I could bring it back to life. I gave $400 for it. http://i975.photobucket.com/albums/ae240/ezmoney1979/Tecaterebuild011.jpg http://i975.photobucket.com/albums/ae240/ezmoney1979/Tecaterebuild012.jpg I got it cleaned up decently and got it running very good! It looks better in pics than in person. I plan on a full resto when I get done with my 1987 KXT250 resto. Hopefully next week!!

Yeah, those tires are goldmines just sitting beneath that thing. Keep them!!!
Get it looking good, and you can get WAY more than $400 out of it if you do ever decide to sell it :)

Ezmoney has had too much time to clean his up. I rode it around his yard already
I will have to take some better pics of my green 71' as well as start some light restoration. The plan is to get both these running and out on the dunes so i can get some video footage of them with my goproHD camera. :Bounce

That's a nice find there. I can see the potential in both of them. Good luck with the resto.

good find, the tires are the hardest part to find.i have quite a few early us 90's but the tires are not the greatest.i keep wishing that someday sombody will reproduce them,i know it will hurt the value of them but atleast i would be able to fix all of mine up.

If you are smart, you will get the adapters to run late model wheels and tires and not mess up the originals. The originals might not be in factory specs as it is and you don't want to ruin them any more. Those original tires are pretty much for display only. Once you have to patch one, you'll have to find out. Vintage motorsports makes adapters for later wheels to be used on the us90s. Also you should get a stand, in case you want to display your trike with the original tires, the stand keep the tires elevated off the ground so it doesn't put so much wear and tear on them just from sitting. It's your money though.

I agree with Vealmonkey, get some adapters and run some newer tires on it, those old balloons are gold mines.

Thanks for the compliments guys!! Yeah the front tire is pretty sweet but the rears have a little bit of cracking. I hear ya on preserving the tires but I searched high and low for one of these bikes with the full intention of riding it on the Ohtsus at the dunes. I guess to me its just part of the experience! If there happens to be a tire failure I will have to battle it out on ebay lol. I really cant wait to make it look as good as it runs soon! Thanks again for the kind words. I will keep you guys posted when it comes time to restore!

This is what happens when you mix a few beers and us-90's.........
EXPENSIVE TIRES GET RIDDEN IN THE DIRT.

Complete lack of respect for the bubble tires.
and i agree with those of you concerned about the tires. But these tires aren't new or perfect. Neither are mine. We are working on repairing the cracking and will run them in the dunes. There will be a gopro vid though when it does happen.
