I thought my battery was no good and i charged it up so i could quickly start it up well i ended up kick starting it. but i took about 3 hours and let the battery charge again later and when i put it in and try to start it the main fuse rattles and clicks. idk if i need a battery or not. but can someone shine some light on it im completely confused.

Batteries don't last long, esp. if you leave them outside in the cold months.

Unless you keep riding it, they seem to crap out.

Yep, lead acid batteries don't tend to like colder weather, so they can lose their charge. It's best to store them in a warmer environment, and if possible, plug them into a wall charger after a days use. Measure the voltage of the battery using a volt meter to see what the voltage is. Should be between 11.8-13.6v for a 12v, and 5.5-7v for a 6v battery.

I use UPS (uninterruptible power supply) 12v gel cell batteries in all my atc's and atv's. Whenever I put a new one in at a customer site, I take the old one with me for "recycling" - even though may be too old or not strong enough for a UPS, they work for years with no trouble in my bikes. They sit in the shed for months, but crank right up every time - plus, they're free. You can pick them up at electronic supply places for about $20 if you want a new one.
