I use to have a YT175 (83) it was pretty fast for a little trike, and then i traded that for a (85) 250es. which one is faster? i cant quite remember which one felt faster.

I haven't rode a YTM175 but I have rode a 250es many times. I would be suprised if a 250ES would break the 55mph barrier in stock form. In a flat out side by side race on a flat surface I would give the win to the YTM, in tight woods sport riding I would give the win to the YTM, Loaded down and heavy work I would give the hands down win to the 250ES. Just my opinion.

I haven't ridden a 175 in years, but guessing I would say speed wise it would give a Big Red a run for its money, after all the 175 is basically a light 2 stroke suspension less play bike where the Big Red is a heavy, relatively low geared shaft driven 4 stroke. The 250 has suspension that would likely give it an advantage over anything rougher than an open field though. So it’s really a tossup with the Big Red being a better all around bike

They're probably similar. My non-stock 125 is only slightly slower than my buddy's KLT250.
