I picked up a complete 84 200es along with a parts 200es the other day. Was told it may have a stuck valve, it did. Exhaust. I tried loosening it thru the valve adjust hole, it worked. Only problem is I ended up knocking the valve spring retainers off. :wondering Today I pulled most of the engine to one side without unbolting the driveshaft and was able to remove the valve cover. I used my automotive over head cam valve spring compressor and put it back together. After cranking for a minute, it fired up! Unlike the 200e I purchased last week, this one doesn't smoke like one of 007's cars. Sounds good too. Definately needs a carb cleaning or rebuild. It bogs down with any more than 1/4 throttle. Smooths out if I close the choke a bit. I'm sure it's got some junk in the carb. I'll pull it at some point and clean it. I'm very excited to hear it run. I like having the reverse too. :naughty:

Here are some pics. Some of the good one and the parts bike. I have a box of parts that were thrown in too. Machine shop made front axle shaft on the parts rig.

I pulled the carb today. I'm suprised it would even idle. I have NEVER seen so much crap in a carb bowl. It was filled up around the main jet, I was wondering if there was even a bottom to the bowl when I started cleaning it. :( Got it running, went around the house with it. It's got a bit of a surge while idleing, possibly an air leak?? It will idle fine for a few minutes, than idle up, than down and stall. Progress anyway. :)

Parts rig has a Cobra exhaust. That will probably get cleaned up and sold....

Did you replace the o-rings between the intake boot and the carb when you had the carb off. I have a 200es that surged like that and thats where it was getting air from.

I get a real fast idle when I am running out of gas and the carb bowl is getting empty. I have been using a plastic lawnmower tank until I get a good metal tank patched and derusted, so I run out of gas often. The petcock may be clogged or floats or float needle needs adjusting. Clear fuel line helps to see what is going on.

I was suspecting the O rings as I did not change them. First thing to order for this. :) I may try a bit of RTV, a VERY thin coat until I get the O rings....

Tank looks clean, plenty of fuel in it. I flushed everything from the tank right thru the carb. It seems to be starting better and running better. :)

I bought two O-rings that were about the right size from Lowe's for about a dollar. In the plumbing section.

Those tires on the 200es with no fenders, how much would you sell them for , with the rim

Thanks for the lowes tip! I'll have to do that, napa may have something too.

I'm keeping the tires on the parts es. Thanks. :)

I do gave someone coming over this morning to look at the 83 200e.

Is the parts rig in the last picture because that is a 200es? I would be interested in the cobra exhaust if its on that 200es.

The Cobra exhaust/muffler will be availible. It does have a rust hole. Looks like the ground wire shorted out on it and helped burn a hole in it. I'll probably have to cut the head pipe to remove it, quite rusty.

I think I found out why it had a stuck valve. I changed the oil and cleaned the filter/screen. The filter was plugged solid. Thinking she may have run a little hot and/or some oil starvation. It seems to run nice and smooth now with the screen cleaned and fresh oil. :)

The ONLY thing that will be for sale off of the parts trike will be the exhaust. I'm keeping it for myself. Thanks. :)

Ahh come on... All i need is that damn hi/lo/reverse knob... LOL

Anyone know how that knob is held on there, is it threaded onto the shaft? The parts drawings so it separate from the shaft, if its threaded on i might just find a universal knob for it.
