I need a rear caliper for my '86 350X. I looked on eBay and they have aftermarket ones brand new with 2 sets of pads for $107 free shipping. I was just wondering if anyone has bought one of these?? They aren't Honda so I am wondering how good the quality is or if it is junk. Please let me know if u have any info on this. Thanks.

Have you seen people copy calipers? I never have. There used to be aftermarket caipers for certain ATVs but I never seen a factory looking copy.

I heard of a ATV Salvage shop in east PA that was rebuilding calipers with cad coatong and paint and calling them new

You might be referring to East Coast ATV. About two years ago I bought a rebuilt 200X caliper from them on Ebay. Good quality if you ask me. It had new seals, rubber boots, and new pads. I believe the one I bought was not advertised as new though, it was clearly stated as rebuilt.

here is a link. the seller is hellbound-racing

i also have a question about the caliper i have. it has smooth raised edges above the two bolts that hold the pads in. the pic in the listing has groves in them. i also have noticed that my caliper sits pretty much against the swingarm. in my repair manual it shows it sitting away from the swingarm just a bit. so i dont know if i have a different caliper or if i have a wrong bracket.
if anyone knows these specifics please help me out before i buy something. thanks.

Ok. I asked the seller and they ARE an aftermarket part. I just can't buy one, unless someone on here has one and it is great...
Dammit!

I'd try one. The one I'm running came off a 2001 cr80. It's used and doesnt work worth a crap. I'd take a brand new aftermarket one over a used one any day. With the pads and billet block off plate that actually seems like a pretty decent deal to me.

I got one a couple of months ago, I had to shim it out with 2 washers for it to fit right and I have yet to bleed it. I tried a couple of times, it might be my master which worked before I tried the new caliper, it could be the new braided line that I put on or it could be the caliper.
I dislike brake work....
