These guys were just about kinked, kinda ovaled on the side but nothing a press can't fix......

Took some working and a dial indicator, but I got them close to spot on in the end. Sometimes being a couple thousands out is better; You keep messing with them and make them worse, kinda bent like a snake

DC that is IMPRESSIVE! I would never have thought you could salvage a fork that was bent that bad!
My forks are straight...for now, but in the future if something were to happen, would you be inclined to hook a fellow triker up with your top-notch repair? If so, what would you charge? And of course, i would pay shipping.

Wasn't mine, they are actually from a streetbike. 1" shorter than the exact 200X tube........
I am an animal on the track but I don't hit things too often

That is pretty wild that you can get that back in place like that. My questions would be, if the upper tubes that bad, does it stretch the tube? And once you get it pretty much back in alignment, is the tube length now longer than stock and if it is, would it affect front end geometry? Like I said, you get me thinking too much. LOL

Looks good! Question though, do you cold bend or use heat?

And can this technique be used for frames, axles, etc...

I've used that technique on a few forks and axles, it works great! Some forks have too thin of walls though to do it to, ended up throwin them away.

^ The V blocks distribute the load, I flattened a set years ago using just a flat block......
It's all done cold, bending it weakens somewhat but heat would destroy the chrome and change the metal hardness.
VM, they don't seem to stretch - I see where your coming from. If you bend something in theory you'd have a long side and a short side, I just bend them back and there back to the stock length.
