I have a 1984 YTM225DX. The headlight was working fine one day, and then on a ride home one day it quit working.

When I got home, I pulled the bulb out and it was still in good shape. I even replaced it with a new bulb, and still no go.

I looked and could only find a fuse along the frame that was also in good shape.

Any idea what could be wrong? Is there a fuse hiding somewhere else?

It sucks riding at night with no light!

Thanks kindly,

Have you checked the three prong connector that goes to the headlight for corrosion?

yea, it looks in very good shape as well. Could it be some kind of electrical issue in the motor?

Could be the switch, do you have power before it?

Lighting system starts on page 193.

I'm thinking switch too. Try taking the switch off the trike, and cleaning it out. Take it apart (be careful of springs and ball bearings!) and then clean it all out. Put back together and try again.

If you don't have a voltmeter, this is a good time to get one. Try measuring the voltage at the bulb socket first. I've had bulbs look good, and actually not be. You can also meter the filaments on the bulb and make sure they're ok.
