Well, saw a picture of the PRM version lastnight and decided that it was so awesome, I just had to have one. Built one tonight and it turned out just about perfect...All I have left to do is find some caps for the ends of the pipe part, paint and mount...I'll try to get some pictures of it before I install it...I'm super stoked about this, my 250r has nothing back there, no type of protection whatsoever and it really sucks lifting the back of it up by the tires :) I did mine a bit different than PRM...I used light weight steel instead of aluminum...can weld either personally, just figured steel can handle more abuse...don't weigh but maybe 3 or 4 pounds anyway...Just had to vent...

By the way, if anyone wants one of these after you see mine, feel free to let me know...I'm sure shipping from me to you is cheaper than what they charge for these...

Any ideas that would be good to use for end caps that might add a nice touch, either red or black...The pipe that needs capped is 1 1/4 OD...I waited on that to see if I could find something plastic or rubber...If not, I'll just weld the ends shut...any ideas?

"light weight steel"?? Never heard of it, unless someone works at NASA

Steel isn't so great because instead of the aluminum bending, the whole subframe does in a flip or roll..........

Here's the basic thing I built...No it's not too "light weight" but I could have made it alot beefier, that's how that statement was meant...

looks good....what do you need to cap? I would just grind down the flat stock to match the contour of the pipe and be done.

dang, looks pretty beefy to me. 1/4th inch steel is probably stronger then your frame, haha

nice fab work you did.i have to agree with dc though.in a rear end crash or an end over end crash your frame is going to bend

try www.alliance-express.com if your looking for plastic and rubber caps. I use their stuff at work.

Thanks for the good words guys...I know it's a bit over kill, was just kind of a test run with some stuff I had laying around...drilled the holes and put it on lastnight...need to paint it and stuff, I'll throw more pictures up shortly when it's all done...I didn't go with my original idea so I forgot I didn't have to cap the ends, lol...

Try putting a crescent wrench on the bracket and bending it backwards to adjust it a bit. Grab bar should keep the fenders in good shape when doing wheelies!

lol, might have to get the torch out for that one...like some of these guys said, it's a bit beefy...even that gusset with the 1/2 inch hole in it may outlast the frame of that Honda, ;) I really decided that I needed something back there the day I was riding a wheelie down my alley and had to turn on a wheelie to avoid hitting my dad's pickup and to keep it short, he said all 3 tires hit the telephone pole, ha ha
