i found 1 for sale but im wondering how does it pick up the speed off the front tire? do i need something else off of it or does it wrk on all bigreds? also whats a fair price for a used 1 its a nice honda speedo & cable thanks

I believe there is a cable that hooks into the brake drum that measures the speed based upon the axle RPM's, or something like that.

cool so i dont need any thing other than the cable & that hooks into my front brk? or do i need the whole brk set up? cuz i dint figure it would be that ez lol

You need the speedo transmission (for a lack of better words) as well....

It doesn't hook into your front brakes. You need the speedo drive(gearbox), that mounts to your front axle.

ok so i guess unless im gona swap the whole tire its not worth it or can the gear box be removed ez also? sorry these questions may sound repettitve but iv never really seen 1 but would love to have 1 if pos. & this guy dont want much for it thanks

If you look at the front axle on one side there will be a spacer about 2-3 inches long the adapter for the speedo fits exactly where that spacer goes on the axle. You don't need to change the whole tire just replace that spacer with the correct part. It might be difficult to find somebody just selling that part used and they are not available new because they were an option from hondaline. I can take a picture of mine and post it if your still not clear on it. Just carry a gps in your pocket it will tell you how fast your going.

now that is excactly the answer im lookin 4 cuz i think the guy will do that if i swap spacers with him but he will be shippin me the parts so i didnt figure he would send the whole tire lol im also buying a front winch mount from him your right i could use gps but i kinda like havin the oldschool orignal hondaline stuff im gona call a guy soon about a big wrap around foot rest lookin thing just because its old school thanks for the info...
