Anyone have a decent diagram for a 200e carb? Wasn't running too great so I pulled the carb lastnight and came to find that the little "umbrella" looking plastic thingie wasn't attached to anything in there, just free floating around the bowl...I took a guess and slid it back on and the thing ran great...Then after awhile it started running crappy again so I think that since that umbrella thingie is pointing downward toward the carb bowl, that there may be some sort of retainer clip or some way of holding it into place so that it can't just fall off...Or maybe I'm putting it on wrong?Any ideas? Thanks guys!

The umbrella thingy just sits in there. It is held in place by the fuel bowl. Put it in place and then put the fuel bowl back on.
You are putting the fuel bown on while the carb is upside down so that the umbrella doesn't fall out, right?
After you get it back together, I would turn the carb back over so its normal and shake it a bit like it was being driven. After that, turn the carb back over and take the bowl off and see if the umbrella is still in place.

Thanks man, that's pretty much how it all went down yesterday...just did what you said...Gonna pull it apart again real quick today just to make sure it stayed in place...This trike sat for a long time so think it just needs a real good tune up all around...Thanks again man!

Thanks a TON for the diagram...that will come in handy in the future...Ok, just took the carb back off and pulled the bowl and the umbrella thingy is still in place...It ran great lastnight after I put that on right and then all of the sudden not so good again...it is spewing gas out of the lower bowl overflow line...I thoroughly examined the float and everything is very clean and moving very freely...What else would make this thing dump gas like that? It stopped doing that lastnight after I put that umbrella thing on but then mysteriously started dumping gas again after a little while...99% sure it's nothing to do with the float (checked the float level and it looks to be right on the money)...

Well, darn thing will run fine for a little bit, then warm up and run crappy...ordered a carb kit for it and a repair manual so I get get it beat into shape...runs good sometimes and crappy...Just going to give it a good beating into shape and have something that runs good...

There's a pdf manual here.

I am missing the umbrella thingy on one of the Big Reds I am rebuilding.
How serious is this? (Surely it will run okay without it?)

I think its more of a baffle than anything else. Prevents the carb from starving when it experiences large jostles and bumps when driving.
