While tearing down my 84 200x for a rebuild, i noticed my cam is pretty well fried on one of the bearing surfaces. The one that rides inside the bushing on the right side of the motor. Less than a year ago it was brand new from web cams, so i hate to just chuck it in favor of a new one. Anyone have any bright ideas on what i can do to remedy this?

Buy a honda oem bushing next time and make sure you change your oil often . You might have some blockage in the oil passages to the head . Hope the motor wasnt put together with any RTV or silicone .

I do change my oil often, and did use a new honda bushing when i installed it. I believe the failure is do to lack of oil like you said. It developed a slight leak around the passage that runs up the jug to the top end which is why i tore it down in the first place. Out of all the companies that hardweld and regrind lobes no one will repair a bearing surface? Also has anyone had good luck with the drop in needle bearing replacements megacycle offers for the bushing?
Oh and also no RTV. Just honda bond where needed lol

Alot of tines it's build up bearing residue that is left on the bearing surface. If that's you're scenario a good machine shop should be able to bring that back to spec.
