well seems like a convergence board has bit the dust on my big projector HD magnavox.... color is alittle off in red and it wont adjust out and Id rather just get another tv instead of fixing this one, its been great for the last 7 years so im not complaining.

my entertainment center is made for a large tv in the middle its 49inches wide 24 inches deep and 48 tall I would like to find a tv that will fill that void good without being to small.

Im also on a budget, everyone on craigslist looks like they just bought the same tv from walmart for $400 and now trying to sell it a year later for $500

I dont want to spend no more then $600 and some of the stuff walmart sells seems like the best bet including bundles that include blueray players and surround sound (wich both I need to upgrade to)

But if anyone has any other ideas let me know!:beer

I've had good luck with Samsung tvs. Pretty nice picture. I honestly prefer the LCD screens over the LED, even though LED is supposed to be better. When watching a movie on the LED, it has the effect that it's being shot with a camcorder, almost. It's too lifelike--it reminds me of those crappy British tv teledramas. I won't lie, LED is nice for sports tho.

I also think an LCD screen is going to be cheaper than the LED at the moment.

We're getting close to X-mas season. There's usually some smoking deals on TVs this time of year. Hope you'll be able to pick up a nice one for cheap.

The only advice I can offer is to pay attention to the speed of the picture refresh rate..(I forget what they call it)

But in HI DEF, if you get a TV with a slow rate, you get grainy picture during hi speed action scenes..(The screen gets fuzzy). They say most peoples eyes cant pick it up, but mine do.

So you are better off to spend the same money on a smaller model that has a high speed refresh rate.

We have a Toshiba LCD, and it does good. I think I paid like 475$ for it 2 years ago.
But in all of them things, the factory speakers suck IMO.
I spent hours at best buy just looking at the pictures of them side by side and tried to keep the fetaures simple on it.It keeps the cost down and less stuff to break.
