For all we know it could be a KLT with a clutch on it.

yeah my research found that a klt250 has a manual clutch
well if any kawasaki pro comes in this thread and answers, my real question is, - is it worth the drive?

I hate to burst your bubble, but pretty much all 3 wheelers have clutches. The difference is some are activated by hand and some are activated when you shift by your foot. I don't know about the alt50, but I do know that the trizinger has a centrifugal clutch, so I don't know if you want to count it or not. Even the lowly atc90 has a clutch. So it could be a klt200 or a 110 or 185 for that matter.

Yes, the KLT 200 and 250s all had the hand clutch. I just picked up an early year KLT 200 - I believe 1982. I have the same problem - Stuck in gear - 3rd to be exact. I havnt taken the cover off yet to see what is wrong, but in my situation I believe it is the shifter shaft - not making connection. The motor runs great after minimal work, and I love the idea of having a manual clutch on a workhorse like the klt 200. The KLT 200 and 250's also have a locking rear differential - so you can put it it one wheel if you want, and turn like no other. They also have electric start, and some but not all have a kick starter. The kick start is wierd, because it dosnt clamp on, you just slide it on the splines, start it, and then put it in the trunk. These machines are deffinatly not sporty - at all! But they have one heck of a heavy duty frame, built like a tank. If you have some sort of work to do, I say go for it! Its nice to break away from honda, and get a Kawasaki. You dont see many around, and those that do have them seem to say they are very tough and reliable.

My 82 200c is a torque monster.. in first gear, might top a 3mph, but it can tow ANYTHING lol. The diff in the back is awesome in the yard, doesn't tear it up. Id say grab it.
@Yamaha_rules, I've got a manual for the C model if you want any info from it

Klt 185's do not have a manual clutch, it's auto so is the 110 and 160. it has to be one of the 200+ klt's or a tecate

What he said is all trikes have a clutch. The difference is how they are activated. He is right.
