Picked this one up today. Check out the cool green paint lol. It runs and drives. Lifted up front end easily on test ride. Paid $450. No paperwork. Don't know what I'm gonna do with it yet.

Nice find for the money. I need to check on a Tri-Z I saw a few years back. Very rural area. It was sitting beside the house with a plastic tarp covering most of it. Yellow and black.

I just did some cleaning up on it and it's actually in really good shape. Silencer has a whole in it and I don't know what the heck it came off of. So I need to find another silencer. I'll be doing away with the headlights in favor of some kind of fabricated number plate. I'm probably gonna paint the plastics white. Get a seat cover and get a kick starter cover gasket cuz it leaks.

I would try to fix it, its quiet, its a spark arrestor, and its $160 new. probably need to reroute it though.

Thanx for the tip. It looks like the guy tried to do it right...but it just doesn't fit in there like it should. I think to fit proper would have to cut and reweld in new position. Still trying to find a reliable welder.

$450 not a bad winter project...It's looks 90% all complete minus some here and theres. It looks like it has the standard forkbend(brake side) very fixable. Seat, and plastic are no biggie..DC plastic has 1-2 items at a resonable price, and Cosmic Quad did at one time carry hard to find plastic as well as doing incredable seat restos. Read through the Tri-Z threat on what interchanges parts wise it's helpfull. Not that you need one but the coolheads, and clutch baskets by Evereything Big Bore, are great replacement items. I'd hate to see it part-out...85.5' pretty rare...I do like the cammo look...if ever a choice between Carbon fiber..or Cammo(espically the new digitized) look would be a toss up for me plastic wise. Done right that trike will scream have fun.

Thanx for the advice. Ya I'll be keeping this one. I kicked myself for selling the last Tri-z. I'm just gonna take my time fixing it up. I did notice that the front end was slightly tweeked. Maybe I'll experiment with some inverted forks cost permitting of coarse.

Yeap, inverts are nice and expensive and take some work to fit with brakes right. Unless your really going to race it straight MX the progressive springs with stiffners(pvc spacers) work just as well for the retro racer. The Rear shock...now thats is where you can dump the invert $. A custom built REAR unit will far exceed the invert performance to the machine. Especially in trails/woods riding then the next day track MX to flat track...the new rear will be so adjustable compaired to a Warrior, Banshee, Blaster, or Raptor stock unit. Keep in mind whats this Zs job discription...all around? racer? woods/GP? Sand/Drag? If it's an all arounder I'd keep it pretty much stock, with the exception of a +2" axle. I prefer the extra even in the woods(kinda tight at times), but thats what I'm use to.
