Rigid foot pegs on a 250r

Do you think is advisable to have non folding foot pegs on a 250r 3 wheeler so I can use heel guards?

i have welded several of mine solid,,, i see no reason not to..

I was thinking if I hit a rock or a stump rite on the peg there is no give and something other than the peg is gonna bend.
