ATC200S with a mystery front end, what is IT?

Picked this 84 200s over the weekend for next to nothing. I was intrigued by the front end. Has a broken axle so it was dirt cheap..

I have no idea which trike that front end is off of.

I ended up buying a 15mm 24 inch long piece of steel rod that I'm going to thread and make the axle out of but still, I have no idea what this is from. Is it aftermarket?

PK racing front suspension... for a hardtail???? Why?

An 84 200s would have come with front suspension from the factory so its either an upgrade or the original front suspension got damaged and this was less expensive than a new oem set up . As far as no rear suspension , your rear end can take more abuse than your shoulders and elbows LOL .

What are your plans for this? I see you are missing a couple small tabs for your front headlight mounts as well, no big deal to fab up. I hear you may need a nice yt175 exhaust? Maybe a trade of some kind???

Well at this point, I'm fabbing up an axle for the front end, at least then I can move the trike, its still sitting on my trailer. I bought the steel and the thread cutting die yesterday. Once I get the trike's carb rebuilt/cleaned and the front end back on and move the thing, then I will decide more.

I really don't need the fancy front end though, so I might be willing to trade provided I can find a standard front end.

Woah. that is awfully cool and tempting. Lemme see how my 175 runs after I put it together and I will let you know. If my 175 runs great then I just might want to spring for that cool pipe.

Well i got the trike running today. Rebuilt the pull starter, made a new axle, and cleaned the carb out totally. Started up on the 2nd pull and runs fine but isn't idling. I don't think I drilled out enough of the idle jet so I will take it apart and try again.

Feels quite different than my normal big red. Its funny, the front end tire/rim is a 25x12x9 (big red size) whereas the rear tires are your normal 22x10x8. Sits up pretty good. Gotta go take some pix.

I measured the fork diameters and they are 31mm.

Okay Bobo, now you see those 2 threaded holes on the front of the upper triple tree? Those are for your upper headlight mounts. Take some thin steel or aluminum stock and make yourself 2 pieces maybe and inch wide. Drill a correspoinding hole in each one so you can put bolts through them that screw into those 2 holes. Then those metal pieces should hang down below where the upper headligh mount pins are. Then drill you a hole for each of the headlight pins into the those 2 metal pieces. Then install 2 small washers over the pins and 2 small cotter pins or circlips and there you have your headlight mounts all done. Do you understand how I'm explaining it?

Here is a twin to your front end with the mounts I'm talking about. Also there is a rear clamp on suspension kit listed in the ebay section on 3ww here right now! You want a cushy ride. Just remember they aren't really made for jumping though. That would be better suited for a welded on kit.

I'm too old and fat for jumping! I just like driving these things. I see exactly what you mean about the heatlight mount. I will try to fab something up this weekend.

But tomorow I'm going to put the 175 back together and see how she runs.
