I have an 86 Tri-Z with some basic mods right now--.5mm overbore w/ Wiseco piston, Barnett clutch, Boyeson dual stage reeds, DG pipe and silencer. After playing around with jetting and needle position, I found that it runs best with factory jetting. I can't recall where I have the needle set at now. The bike runs great in all areas.

However, right now the shop has another cylinder and cover that are going to get the phase one porting mods from the wrench report. The wrench report mentions simple changes to the jetting will siffice with the phase one mods. With the porting and other upgrades, would it be worth the money to upgrade the carb to something like a 38 mm Keihin PWK Airstriker? Would the performance warrant the cost? Basically is a bang for the buck question.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

I have a PWK Airstriker carb with the sprock intake and it runs great! I have stock porting, DG pipe and silencer, V-force reeds and am pretty happy with the set-up.
