I am in need of a new chain for my 250r project with my WEST COAST +2 swinger-whats the best chain these days? What pitch? 520?428?525? DID? O-RING? i RIDE TRAILS, HILLS, NOT ALOT OF SAND,MUDDY conditions.I am running alumn sprocket in the rear steel up front.I would buy a chain set with sprockets for a package deal.Sidewinder still makes them I see:

Rocky mtn also has a ton of chains for purchase, in all sizes and makes, what are you guys running?

520 is the correct and only size to use. DID is pretty good & sidewinder too- IMO. O-ring chains last much longer than but are heavier than non o-ring chain. Also, I dont think aluminum rear sprockets are a good idea for this bike. It will wear quickly and sometimes break. Hope this helps some.

always get sprockets and a chain as a package deal, unless you break a new chain somehow.
