i am having a problem with my tecate and I was wondering if maybe someone out there can help? The problem is it idles to fast and when i change the idleing screw not much happens. But when the tank is full of gas it will idle down when I adjust it. I have had pretty many bikes but i must say i have never had this happen. As the tank heads towards empty the fast it idles!! Otherwise it runs like a raped ape!!

I ask the mecanic at the local Kawasaki shop and he ofcourse he didnt want to say much, but he thought it could be the floats or the needle valve and something to do with the pressure of a full tank.

Can anybody help me??

Sounds to me like it's got an air leak somewhere and it's leaning out the mixture. Maybe at the reed cage? Maybe even the main crank seals. I'm not sure yet why the fuel tank affects it. I'd disassemble and clean the carb first. Make sure it's in good working order and go from their.

You know on second thought, mine Idles real high when it starts to run out of gas. check your fuel line and petcock too. maybe the fluid pressure of a full tank of fuel is enough to push it through some kind of clog in the lines.
