Ok I have a 200s it runs pretty good.It has a fairly new carb, fresh gas etc.Well I'll go riding&maybe an hour into it it'll start to sound like its not getting any gas or that the choke is on&then it'll die.Well I orderd a new choke lever, still happens.I'm not really sure what to do.Please any ideas?

Is the valve on the gas cap turned to "on"? If yes,- then try this next time it stalls -open the gas cap. Listen to see if you hear air/suction sound while you open. Then see if it starts back up.If so your gas cap is not venting and must be replaced.- Possibility?

When it starts to die try taking the gas cap off. If it runs better your gas cap vent is clogged.

if the gas cap was plugged , why would it take an hour to malfunction ? i would think that would be noticeable right away ? i really dont know im just trying to learn here so im not trying to sound like a heckler or a wisenheimer

When it is warmed up, make sure the exhaust and intake manifold nuts are tight. If either are loose, it will cause a lean condition which will cause overheating and, eventually, engine damage.

No, the timeframe sounds about right to me, gotta use up some fuel to create a vacum. i had a 200s that did the same thing when i was a young lad, that was the exact problem, a dicked up cap. Replaced it and it ran like a top after.
Im gonna go with the other guys and say plugged up fuel cap.

Well I took the carb off&cleaned everything up,I think I need to adjust the idle because it'll start but dies as soon,as I take my thumb off of the gas,Ill try again tomorrow &check out the gas cap.Didn't think about that.right after I first posted this thread I started it&it died without being ran awhile.???

Is your tank/fuel clean or full of rust or sediments? Is the fuel valve flowing gas fine on both "res" & "on"?? Is the fuel line too long and kinking maybe- (if replaced)? Float/floatvalve in carb sticking?- How did the carb look inside? Was the pilot/slow jet completely clean (see thru all around?)? Did it idle fine before(recently)?-You say it stalls if you let go of the throttle? You may have to adjust your carb too.Check the simple things 1st. I think we need some more info from you to narrow it down some.

It ended up being when I put the carb back on,I took the gas tank off&didn't have the tank sitting back on correctly.I got it back on the correct way&adjusteD the idle&it runs fine unfortunately I got a hole in the tire a few minutes later.

ah-the fuel line was kinked then right? -(since the gas tank wasnt mounted correctly yet). glad you got it solved. good luck.
