Good engine swap for a 70?

I might be able to get a 1979 Honda 110 motor (has the hi-low range box) for like $25. It has no intake or carb, but the coil and everything else is there. Would this be a fairly straight forward swap into my '82 ATC 70? I haven't looked into if the sprockets will line up or mount holes or anything. And I imagine my 70 intake and carb wouldn't work either. Would this be worth it? Don't know how much power or speed I'd gain.

I threw a ragged out 90 motor in a 70 frame and it's a blast. You use the top mount hole and have to drill a new lower mount hole. You will also need the 110 chain and cut it down to fit. It's slightly wider than the 70 rear sprocket, but still works fine. Yeah, you'll need the 110 carb, intake, and wiring too.

How many have done a 110cc into an ATC 70 swap? This thing has all the wiring with it, just no intake or carburetor. Will there be any clearance issues between the front tire and head?

I just explained it to you. The 90 and 110 are essentially the same motor. Your fender will probably rub, but the tire clears fine.

Yes, clearance issues. You can either run no front fender, and it's still pretty close to the front tire, or you can cut and lengthen your frame. Also you should fab a front engine mount as the 90/110 engine is heavier than the 70 engine and the engine puts more strain on the rear bolt holes. If you want less fabbing issues and a straight bolt in engine, then look into the lifan engines. You can go from 110 to 140 and no modding of the 70 engine bolt holes. You usually have to get a different intake and adapter as they often have clearance issues with the carb and frame, but those parts are readily available. If you want electric start, there are ways and places to put your battery inside the frame under the seat. You can also have manual clutch as well as kickstart engine and there is even a way to adapt an atc70 pullstarter if you wish. I just put a 140 into my suspension 70 frame and mine is manual clutch with the kickstarter/pullstarter conversion. It's a little beastie to pull start. I hope it will get slightly easier as the engine is broken in. It rips the darn pull cord right out of your hand! LOL Blue27 adapted a cheap pitbike exhaust and it sounds really wicked running. It should be a crazy little machine with the manual clutch in the suspension frame.

I don't know of any of the converted 250r engine above the equator, but I do know where 2 laydown 200x engine blocks are!!!!!! :naughty:

Here is a pic of the laydown 200x cases. You will see where the stock hole for the clyinder is on top of the engine and you will also see where greenhuman modifies the front of the engine cases to relocate the 200x cylinder. He also sent me templates for cutting and drilling the "stock" frame to fit the laydown 200x engine.
