carb question

I got a free 83 185s and the carb was crap so, im going to just buy a new one, i found one on ebay thats like 20 bucks brand new. should i buy it or would it just be a P.O.S? cause all the other ones are like 40 bucks brand new

They are probably all the same carb, or similar, just different prices. I bought two of the chinese carbs and they work great.

I have since figured out that I can clean the old carbs with white vinegar, which is two dollars a gallon at the grocery store, and then the old carbs work great. Be sure to rinse thoroughly with water and brush with a toothbrush because if there is any leftover vinegar, it will cause corrosion.
