Will an 84 X hub fit my liquid R? What other Honda bubs cross over. I figure I should try to make this thread less selfish.

the big 3 hubs are all a little different.. 86-87 200x ,85-86 250r ,and the 85-86 350x. but the 83-85 200x is completely different.. they all can be made to work on diffeient trikes,, its usually spacer dimensions that have to be changed... the 83-85 200x has a completely different wheel hole pattern which is the same as the 83-84 250r.

I know there are allot of old timers here that were into trikes in the glory days but I'm sure there are some (like me) that are just learning. I would be nice if there was somewhere that there was a cross reference of what would work where. With the parts getting fewer and farther between there is going to be a time when if we continue to ride trikes we are going to have to get the parts from new sources. I've wonder if any ot the quad read fenders would "work" on a trike. I don't expect things to be bolt on but could I use 86 CR250 forks on my X? I know new triple clamps would be needed but they aren't hard to machine and I know several guys on here could machine a set. Is there anywhere on the net that that type of info is in one place? From my research, this is THE site for trikes but certain info is hard to find and alot of the time it's info that the old timers consider common knowledge but for guys like me, it's had to find.

I have been thinking of just machining the Hub I have from the 84 200X. I have the wheel too, So thats no t an issue and there is very little rim in the middle. Pretty much enough for the bolt holes. My question is are the axles the same diameter? If not are the 250R bearings the same OD diameter so I can just do a bearing swap. If all I need are new spacers I could do that no prob.

There is alot of extra weight on the X hub too. If this would work with new spacers then I could save the coin on buying a new R hub and having it machined.I plan to trim weight of what ever hub I use. Ill cruise the Bay now to see if I can get a deal.

all the bearings are the same and axle diameters are the same. i took a stock 250r hub and cut the weight in half,, then mounted a lt500 10" wheel for my daughters 250r.

You really cut the weight in 1/2? Im still waiting on a total weight for your 250. The 250 hubs look exactly like the 200X. they have a crazy wide pattern though. How did you do the wheel? Im pretty sure I can get a cheap blue label to run and it will be lighter then the X rim I have. I will buy a rim off you if you had a pair. Id even pay you to cut it. Are there spacers involved to get the correct off set? Id love the same rim withoout the spokes left on it. Pm if you interested.

Thanks for all the info, There is not of heavy hitters that know the 500 like you a couple other members. Im going for something radical here and need input from thems that knows. I cant thank you enough. Same goes for everyone else that has been helpful.

the center pipe is aluminum too,, that makes alot of difference.. the trike this wheel is on is setup with inverted forks too,,, the final weight was 230# ready to ride.

Is the center pipe actually needed? That would save even more. But thanks for the input. Ill be doing the same, But drilling the center pipe like swiss cheese. My goal is 225-250 rtr. The frame conversion didnt help, But Ill the weight there.

just remember the 500 motor ia alot heavier than a 250r motor so 225 in a 250r chassis might not be attainable ,,, i also have a complete aluminum rear setup,,,

I heard the 500 motor was lighter can you confirm the weight of each. I can weight my 500, But I have no 250.
