and even more typical, no pictures yet. i have never ben interested in the 84 250R but there is one coming up for sale here in Indiana. i firmly believe this bike has less than 50 hours on it. the thing i don't like is that when it was new he pulled the engine out and sent it off to an engine builder ( i can't remember who but will find out) and was built for MX. he got it back and was to scared of it and never really rode it. i can get it for $1600. figure that is the top of it's value but i don't know this year of 250R. i will have pictures for you soon. i have not seen this bike for 2 years but from what i remember, it looked new. anyone have any thought on the 84 250R.

If its in good shape then I would pay up about ....750-1400$ for it.

around here I wouldnt pay more than $800. I got a non running 85 in decent shape for $525, now it runs like a champ for right around $300 into it. so $800 for a running 85

hey if you want I can make you a glass case to put it in...even I ride some of my toys that are stored away. it's nice to blow the dust off of them once in awhile

i think you also need to see what vintage race parts were used to build the r, some of the parts are worth big bucks making the value of the r even more as a vintage mx racer, so if its as nice as you are saying and has some cool vintage mods it could be worth the asking price easy. but that is only my opinion .if it is mint and has some cool stuff offer him a little less .

the bike is all stock other than the engine and exhaust. i think he has the stock exhaust that goes with it. it had protective decals on the tank to keep it from getting wore but the decals are faded and need to come off. i don't think it will be a problem to get them off.

If its in as good of shape as you say it is its prolly worth it. You know it isnt going to start depreciating only going up in value. Im all about keeping it for display i think that would be cool to have setting around for a conversation peice then when no ones around tear up all the grass around the house with it!

It seems that we don't see a lot of 2nd gens on here in original shape. Post pics if you get it!

it turns out that this is an 83 and i completely forgot about the mud flaps. they were bought and put on in the 80s. the guy that owned it when i looked at it last was the original owner. the tires were wore from only seeing road use and this guy put new back tires on it. he is going to sell it but will want a premium for it. he had it in an auction today but did not meet reserve. it got to $1200 and did not sell. if someone is interested let me know.

you're into water cooled territory at that price, its a nice bike don't get me wrong, but it wouldn't fetch that around here

ya, if i had the money it would be worth it to me. If it's in as good as condition cosmetically as it is mechanically than i would said it's a price worth paying. But ya, it prolly won't go up too much in value anytime soon. It's a nice trike, except all the stickers on the mud flaps. To each his own, i guess.
