I have used Stove Black paint for mine and it holds up well and they look like new. There are some that have a higher heat rating, I would go for the higher one but can't remember the brand name but possibly it is called, "Stove Black". Wal-Mart carries it. I would clean up the exhaust as best as you can first, then paint it. You will smell the paint for the first few rides when it gets hot. Hope this helps!

Try a used crf 230 Exhaust with the baffles removed sounds decent, and pretty cost effective. Look good with the crome face plate on the back also

I use the stove paint as well. It's a nice matte finish so it doesn't look shiny and spray bombed.
