tires

I want to put new rear tires on my atc 185s. I am undecided on what tires to buy. I am looking at fox a/t's. I am also looking at some kenda dirt dogs that my friend has, but one of the tires has some pretty bad weather checking. should I avoid this or should they be ok? Also, which style of tires are better for occasional mud, some sand, snow, but mostly hard packed trail?

If you don't want to end up using tubes i would stay away from the weather cracked tires, personally i would run a little smaller tire my 84 200es had 25X12-9 on it and it was sluggish put on a set of scorpion 22x11-9 and it made a big difference in the bike.
