Hey guys

Going through my "new" trike now, fixing stuff as I find it. One of my items is the whole rear folder wobbles. It seems like the little "metal cones" go into the rubber saddles with way too much slop. I think I probably need new rubbers, which are still available:
CUSHION for 1986 HONDA ATC250R
77207-HA0-000

I wonder though, it seems there is a 1/2 inch slop in there - I can lift the fender up about 1/2 an inch. Anyone have any ideas what is going on here? Maybe I'll post some pics when I get home. Thanks

i ran into this on mine and i took a lot of the play out of it by bending the plate that has the two cones on it back to flat. not sure if it is supposed to be flat or not from factory but after i did that it took a lot of the wobble out of the fenders. another place to look is to make sure that your have the two square rubbers that are half way up the rear section also..

Put a few large washers on the seat bracket posts that drop down through the rear of the subframe before you put the seat and fenders on the frame..

This will take up that slack and stop that side to side wobble, and also make your latch a little tighter.

Also I Think Kintore re drilled a TRX 250r after market seat latch with the pins and cotter pins so the fenders dont fly off..

I had some custom made for my R's.

Thanks guys

Just went out, everything looks like it's there, but here's a youtube vid of the wobble. I inspected, all of the rubber pieces are there. Do you think it needs a new bracket or rear rubbers cushions?

glue on some real thick rubber on top of the original bushings.

It appears your seat lock is wore out causing play. Your fender set should lock tight, it would not hurt to replace the entire assembly. There may be a good used set on eBay but you have the option of buying new parts and it would be a good idea to replace new rubber cushions to like you said. HERE ARE THE PART NUMBERS YOU NEED TO MAKE IT TIGHT AGAIN: SEAT PLATE LOCK 50223-HA2-670 <--- MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE BUT COMPETITIONPOWERSPORTS ON EBAY WILL HAVE IT OR ALL PARTS YOU NEED ...SEAT LOCK LEVER 50221-HA2-000...SEAT CUSHION 77207-HA0-000. THIS WILL FIX YOUR PROBLEM, THESE PARTS GET WORE AND CAUSE PLAY.

Thanks guys

I am noticing that there appears to be some smaller washers on the strikers, check this out from an ebay seller. Note the 1/2 rubber bumpers sitting on the posts?
