81 250r trouble

Hey guys new to site, but big fan. Hopefully someone can help me out here. Just bought a 250r ran very fast compared to the 185s I have. It won't start for me now, kick kick backfire. Cleaned carb and jets, reeds looked good, new plug...still nothing. Hopefully someone can help me out here. Thanks.

Spark, fuel, ignition at the right time.

Check your stator or ignition side. Might be waterbound/rusty ?? Fresh gas, clean filter, no air leaks etc etc..........
