I was wondering what if any performance upgrades are availible for a yamaha tri moto 175, or a honda 200m, just wondering.:wondering

For the YT 175 - Performance exhaust (kinda hard to find), jet carb for new pipe, have the head shaved to increase compression, Port work done by a pro will really wake it up. You can also use some dirtbike parts, like the jug from a yamaha DT 175, it bolts on, and has better porting, or combine some parts from a DT 175, and you can make it a manual (hand clutch) tranny.
For the 200m, the most common "bolt on" and cost efficient yet noticable upgrades are a performance pipe, XR 200 dirtbike camshaft, and XR 200 carb. You can also buy high compression pistons for them - 12:1, and run high octane fuel.

what would be the better option, to use the dirt-bike jug or get to it ported, and im really interested in the manual clutch conversion, what parts do you need and how would i do it? i know i am asking a simple question to a detailed answer but i thought that there might be some sort of instructions, where would i find them or is it just something that only a yamaha fanatic would know about? thanks.

No instructions on how to swap the parts out. I know parts from 1977-1978 mx175 will work for the manual clutch. You can't just swap the mx175 though, as the main transmission shaft is too short and the front and rear sprockets won't line up. As far as porting or the other parts being cheaper, well I guess that depends on what you can find. I found the clyinder pretty cheap and had bored for a new piston. Personally I think the better deal is to find the it175 jug and just get a new piston as you would have to do a ton of porting to a yt175 jug to be the same as a stock it175 jug. And the mx175 top end is the exact same as the yt175. I just managed to pick up what I think is a DG head for the it175 too. Exhausts are around. I have an extra nos PK racing exhaust for the 175 if need be. I also modified a ytm200 front end to fit on my yt175. I switched out the lower triple tree stems. Takes a little machining to do. I also have the Pro Tec rear suspension kit for my yt175. Good luck finding one of those though. I had 4 at one time and sold them all to board members on here. Look for the thread on the Pro Tec rear suspension 175. I never have finished mine yet. There was a member who totally tricked his out though, the tecate kid. That is the sweetest yt175 that I've ever seen. I posted his pics in my thread for the Pro Tec rear suspension thread.
