it all depends on your machine, stock or after market pipe and air filter, to my understanding, if it affects air flow it will affect your jetting, get a owners/service manual and read carb jetting 101 undr world class help

You need a service manual. If you let us know what trike you are working on, some kind soul might post up a link to a copy of one for it. It will tell you where to set the needle, and what are stock jets, idle mixture setting, etc.

rolman to actually answer your question and not just give a run around of links; stock you should be running a pe30 carb, a 130 main jet, a 50 slow, a 'ikb' needle- thats what the four pe 30 i got have. Have the air screw 1-1/4 tp 1 3/4 out. as for you idle screw i have found a good way to set it after rebuilding is to turn it out untill it dosn't lift the slider in the carb, then screw it in so it lets maybe 1mm of gap under the slider. I had your same setup and ran stock jettings at see level for years with 32:1 Castor Mix

start with the clip on the needle in the middle groove. bogging on top end or low speed bottom end stuff? move your clip to the middle groove and see if that helps your bogging. if you are running too rich, (lots of smoke) you need to go down numerically in size on the main jet. I have never had to mess with the pilot or slow jet, mostly because I am full throttle. Used to have a cherry 83 myself, now I have stepped up to the big leagues with an 85.

hope that helps ya and there will be more info coming shortly from the other nice peeps on this board

ok great will try that . its not rich im running really lean about 50.1 from take off has bogging. if take off slow seems ok but I will try moving it to middle. THANK YOU much
