Hi guys never posted on a forum before so idk if im even doing this right. Ive always used the search button
to answer my questions. Anyway to the point, i'm working on my 86 250es and my flywheel that the stator
sits in is chewed up from the starter drive gears breaking. I've found a 250sx flywheel cheap will in interchange?
Also, does it matter what year the the flywheel is from any difference in years?

If you go to bikebandit.com you can see if the part numbers are the same... I dont know about the flywheel, but am pretty sure the stators were different from 85 to 86&87....

I'm about to start parting out an 85 Big Red bottom end if you are interested in the flywheel.

Well I did some searchin on bikebandit.com and it looks like the part numbers are the same between the 85-86 250es and 250sx. Has anyone swapped out there flywheel with the other model ? any problems? Thanks for all the help so far guys

Ok i finally got my new flywheel and im about to swap it on. I called my local honda shop to ask if the bolt holding the flywheel on was left or right hand thread and they wasnt sure. Can anyone verify if its right or left hand thread. Thanks alot and sorry for the noob question.

YOUR NOT READING THE MANUAL, ARE YOU??!!

I thought some of starter gears died when the one way clutch temporarily locked up. I've been out of the ES and SX for so long......

Its RH thread and the other flywheel has the one way clutch on the back of it I believe..... so you should be good.

YES I HAVE THE MANUAL,all its says is "hold the flywheel with the flywheel holder and remove the flywheel bolt." Not very informative. Right hand it is then thanks DC.:D

If it doesn't say LH thread, then it's RH thread. I doubt the local shop would be much help............
