and its about time...

Bought this front end of Billy Golightly at TF this year..these were made by billy back when he was 16 years old... and to my knowledge .. are the first set of modern inverts on a trike..let alone a tri z..I was talkin to roosty today and he says billy had em in 05 at TF.
The forks are 03 ktm85sx 03-09 same as 105sx 06-09
fork springs are out of a 200xc cut down.. and they are Stiff!
front cailiper is a brembo duel pist on caliper off a 525xc quad front.. witch now looks just like a yamaha 250f caliper buts it a nissin,, uses the same pad also...

total bead blast ,, bearing removal, and a little straiting in a 10 ton press.. on the lower tripple,,
Welded a brace on the bottom of the lower tripple .
Welded up the lower clamp holes .
Welded up a 4 pinch points (filled in and ground square)
smoothed all pin holes with jb weld
primed & painted
Installed all balls stem Kit..
stainless steel line.

Removed the the risers off a 85 upper tripple .. and got stumped Had no clue what billy had in here.. the holes were taperd bushing style.:wondering

Nice Calfab Raffa. Take care of that swingarm, it is alot harder to fix an aluminum swingarm than it is a steel one.

That thing is aweful familiar....hehe

Tell me..Have you found any more info on it as to why the pivot arm is placed where it is vs. the others Z Cal-Fabs?

I could'nt bring myself to run it on a hard core rider.

I could'nt bring myself to run it on a hard core rider.

It was made for racing I can tell you that:D,, its a +1 calfab dogbone holes are the same as stock as far as length from the piviot bolt.. it was made to have a lower stance wile retaining the the stock spring rate.. the dog bone is a plus 1" as compared to my +1 from ronnie , thus again holding a lower stance , the hole is lower than stock,, thus I'm thinkin that why it has a longer bone.

Ronnie made these alum drivers to install the z bearings.. man I do miss him.. made installing oem bearings , bushings and seals a breeze today..also he made these alum bushings I will use on the dog bone line to take that space up,

the thing that intrests me is how the rear where the rear end bolts up is twisted more down,, time will only tell now Rob..:D

I was takeing mesurements from the center of the piviot to the center of the lower carrier hole.. stock 19 3/4 calfab 20 3/4 and found out my +6 for my 490 is really a +7...

Few pictures of my previously welded and cracked again swingarm...

one fun fact I did find out about the calfab is that it uses no seals for the pivot dust caps..
