Ya know, I almost think that rebuild kits are not necessary even for the worst/dirtiest carbs. I just rebuilt a carb that looked like it spent a good few years soaking in a swamp and then dried out in a desert. Crusted up with gunk. The interior was awful.

I bought a paint can style carb cleaner thingy at Napa, was 24 dollars. I completely stripped the carb down and let the body and bowl sit in the tank for a day. I also put all the little pieces in the soakikng basket as well after removing anything rubber (don't put the float needle in the tank!). The main jet was partially clogged and the idle jet was completely clogged.

I bought a set of drill bits from my local tool store that cost me 9 dollars. Has every size from 60 to 81. I used one of the tiny tiny drills to unclog the idle jet and use a slightly bigger drill bit to clean up the holes.

When I took the body and bowl out of the bucket, they looked nearly new. Put everything together and the trike fired up right away (after I fixed the float that I put in upside down at first).

The big key is getting the idle jet cleaned and free flowing and doing the same for the main jet.

Saweet, it lives. I got to ride it today. I ended up taking the two carb.s we had and made one and it runs awsome. I think i need to do something with the idle 'cause it wont idle, but it lives! I think I'm gonna stick around this site and get some more ideas, thanks guys.

They are ITP Holeshots in the 18x11x9 flavor.

yea im thinking about buying some 18s. these stock ones are a lil tippy. My cousin let me barrow the 18' turf tammers off of his trx250r, it made such a big difference

They grab real good, but someone else that I was talking to said he lost top speed because they are smaller. So I'm thinking of getting some a little taller to get more speed.

Yea but you also get more acceleration so it about evens out. +acceleration -top speed

As long as your happy with the lack of top end speed, 18" tires turn great! 20" tires well, and are what I run with a less aggressive pattern on the 87X......

22" are too tall for such little engine.............

I like riding on the track and goofing off(power slides, donuts & what not) so the lack of top speed dont bother me ;) Im also interested in the 200x build keep me informed on the build.

Well it's not realy a build I just had a question, but I got it figured out. The bike is actually my little brothers so it's his project, I'm more of a mechanic than he is so I just toss the wrenches. (I'm 17 and he's 14)
