Ok well i just put new gaskets in my 87x and got it out of the shop. there for its not leaking out of the side covers but I think it is leaking from the underneath because my skid plate is basicly a oil pan right now. Ive looked every where trying to find the leak but nothing, Could it be oil caked up on the motor from the last oil leak and its just burning off?? Ima bout to go check the oil and see if its still all in there, but if 87 x's have weak spots for leaking oil please inform me.

Thanks...

pull the cover off and make one out of roofing felt

Yea my dad had a great idea...trace the gasket on a piece of cardboard or paper so its easy to remake one

save the NEW gasket?

I usually glue them )3m weatherstrip adhesive is liek contact cement...to the most removable part, like the cover, and then let blue rtv super thin and dry to the touch so it squeezes like a rubber band and can come back off if needed.

good glue to keep rubber seals from walking out too.

on some parts, a ball peen hammer will actually cut gasket paper tons faster than with sissors and hole punch
