Got the flywheel off and stator has dug into magnito so crank bearings are shot. Will a 1985 engine be the same as my 83? Whats a good price for a complete used motor that runs good? Thanks Mike

I know that 1981 was the last year of the 3 speed. Is there any difference in engines between 83 and 1985?

I think last year for the 3 speeds was 82. The only difference between the 83-85 was the 83 and 84 were down shift. The 85 is a up shift. They all should bolt right up.

they seem to be between $100-$200+ shipping . Or you can get a lifan 125 for $270 shipped brand new

That is a pretty good deal on the lifan, where's that at? My frame was bent but I bent it back w/ a bottle jack its real close to where it should be, but aren't those lifans a little longer? It may rub the fender with the longer engine? Also there's the kick start issue and chopping a fender off for clearance. The electric start and tight space for a battery. The pull start conversion costs over a hundred bucks ouch! They look kinda hard to wire all up too. Then there's the exhaust issue,I guess you gotta rebend it to fit?
