Hi my 84 honda atc 200s runs rich no matter whati do. i have 4 different carbs i have rebuilt i am running a main jet size at 95 clip set at top of needle and new needle also, float and float needle new and set to 14 mm slow speed jet new also main jet new also . main jet holder new also makes sparkplug black in a minute. new piston and rings bored too .50 valves relapped new valve guide seals timing set with timing light while engine is running f mark lines up with timing mark using timing light compression at 175 psi. tried different carbs to no avail even new ebay carb same thing no matter what adjustments i make it still runs rich when i rev it up a little black smoke comes out if i turn the air screw in all the way shuts bike right off like it is suppose to do and every carb i use i cant get it to idle i turn up idle to set air screw its more accurate i dial it in with the air screw makes it idle high and smooth then i back off the slide screw to bring the idle back to normal and it will stall in less then a min turn idle screw in to keep from stalling then revs to much sprayed carb cleaner on intake and around to check for vacuum leaks there are none valves set at .003 i have the filter and air box removed still runs rich any one ever figure this out i am missing some thing please any help would be great thanks

.... wow you have tried everything ehh? make sure nothing is blocked. so you got the air box off and everything is new and it sounds like you have messed with the carb enough to not have it set wrong. are you just simply using to big of a jet? maybe try taking the silencer off the exhaust just to see if that helps, if it does maybe buy an after market pipe if you dont mind it being louder.
maybe im missing something in my thinking process. make sure your choke is all the way off.
try jetting down, is 95 the stock size? maybe your using a different style jet than stock and the number system doesn't match (one type's 95 will be different from another's 95)
hmmm maybe someone else has something?
i mean its freshly rebuilt and everything...

good luck
