i have a question for somebody, i have an 82' atc250r and it seams to kick really easy to start. it starts every kick but sometimes the kicker will go almost down and the last little bite will start the bike. would that be lack of compression. idk but it always starts even dead cold

do a compression check to find out

if it starts when its cold try starting it and taking it for a nice 10 or 15 minute ride get it nice and warm then shut it off and try and start it again if it is lack of compression then it probably wont start when its warm if it is it will need atleast a set of rings but if your going to rebuild it go all the way and put a piston in its not that expensive also if you check the compression if its below 80 pounds then id probably rebuild it but yea that sounds like a compression problem

If it aint broke, dont fix it! Ride it till she blows, then rebuild it.
