so here's the story. I spend all night last night tuning my 185 up and I take it out today to ride it and the recoil breaks! just great. I know its not hard to fix, but its just a pain in the @$$.

That sucks, rebuilt mine when I first got my 185, what a pain. If you can, try to get a cable for it instead of a rope, Dennis Kirk has them. I used one on mine and have not had a problem since - that was about 8 years ago.

had that happen on my 110, luckly with such a small motor and the auto clutch i could put it in 4th high and start it by pushing it even on flat ground. im getting a cable for mine too.
thats what happens when these machines are as old as they are.
